Marketing concent`s

Examples of consent collected for marketing purposes:

  • cookie consent via the pop-up notification on the website (see the part below for more information on cookies)
  • subscribing to the newsletter by filling in the form on the website
  • consent for marketing given when using our web services (the case when filling in the data protection statement at a clinic or online in the Health Folder for Customers, where the customer can also withdraw their consent)
  • consent for targeted advertising when agreeing to email marketing

Website cookies are explained in more detail at the end of this page. When you visit the SYNLAB website for the first time on your device, a cookie consent box will pop up, asking you whether you want to accept all cookies, block all cookies or edit the cookie settings to your liking. If you agree to the use of cookies, we can use the data in targeting our marketing.

You can subscribe to the SYNLAB newsletter by filling in the form at the bottom of the page at In order for you to subscribe to the newsletter, you must tick the box next to the statement: “I consent to receiving SYNLAB’s marketing emails”. Newsletter subscribers get exclusive offers and up-to-date information about SYNLAB’s services via email. In the newsletter, we might ask you about your interests and thereby, with your consent, market certain services to you. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter any time—the link to cancel your subscription can be found at the end of each newsletter. You can also unsubscribe by sending an email to

When you start using our services (become our client), we will ask you to fill in the data protection statement either on paper at a clinic or online in the Health Folder for Customers before your visit to a clinic. In the statement, there is a box next to the sentence “Inform me about SYNLAB’s offers and services via SYNLAB’s marketing messages. You can opt out at any time by informing SYNLAB or changing your preferences in the Health Folder for Customers.” that you can tick. By doing so, you agree to receiving marketing emails from SYNLAB.

We carry out targeted email marketing if the customer gives us their consent for it. When the customer does so, they can choose whether they want to receive general advertisements (a newsletter), emails related to the service they used or emails based on the date of their latest visit at the clinic. We can use targeted marketing to remind the customer to come back for another laboratory test after a certain time has passed, or inform them of our services depending on what services they have previously used.

Email is the only marketing channel we use.
